Paul Howell
Paul has been practicing law in West-Central Ohio since his graduation from Ohio Northern University and admission to the Ohio bar in 1985. He has extensive experience as a trial lawyer in federal, state and local courts. Paul has also devoted many years to government services as the Mercer County Prosecuting Attorney (1992-2000) and solicitor for several villages.
Paul sees technology and the increasingly diverse needs of our society as dynamic forces in the practice of law. He strives to practice in accordance with the highest ethical standards while protecting the rights of our clients to the fullest. Maintaining advanced computer technology is a priority, while devoting significant time and resources to his continuing legal education. This philosophy enables him to provide timely, quality legal services at a reasonable fee.
He has a broad base of experience in several areas, but today he devotes most of his practice to personal injury, wrongful death, trusts, wills and complex estate planning. He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association. He prepares wills, trusts, and other documents and plans estates for people with any size estate, including those of high net-worth clients who want to minimize estate taxes and maximize their worth to pass to their families. His experience and courtroom skills help his clients navigate the maze of confusion and achieve successful results and plans specifically tailored to their needs.
Paul lives in Coldwater with his wife Joyce, who is a retired teacher from Coldwater Junior High. Paul and Joyce have three grown children: Matt, Dean and Paula. Paul has traveled extensively throughout Latin America and is an avid golfer. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Foundations Behavioral Health Services, Inc.; President of the Board for Coldwater Public Library; and an active member of Holy Trinity Church.

Emily Gast-Schlater
Emily’s focus areas are estate and trust planning, real estate, business, probate, guardianships, and Medicaid planning and applications. She works closely with her clients’ accountants and financial advisors to ensure any planning also takes into account tax implications and effect on financial planning.
Emily is a 2010 graduate of the University of Dayton School of Law, where she excelled in the intensive two-year law program. In 2009, Emily was invited to work on the University of Dayton’s Law Review, editing and reviewing legal journal entries, and soon became part of the Law Review editorial staff, serving as publications editor.
Before attending the University of Dayton, Emily worked in banking and mortgage finance. Coupled with her experience growing up in a family-run, agriculture-based business, her involvement in these areas led to her interest in probate, trust and estate planning, real estate and business organizations law. She believes that careful planning and goal setting is very important in facilitating the best results in the transfer of businesses, farming operations and wealth through generations.
Emily believes that community involvement is key to the prosperity of rural areas. As such, she serves as guardian of several local incompetent adults and is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Mercer County Bar Association, a board member of the Mercer Health Med Foundation, and a member of the St. Henry Catholic Church and Daughters of Isabella.

Matt Wuebker
Matt has been practicing law since 2013, when he graduated from University of Dayton School of Law and was admitted to the Ohio bar. He has extensive experience in commercial and residential real estate matters, primarily as a transactional attorney. He has closed hundreds of real estate loans and sales as a title attorney and is a licensed Ohio title insurance agent with Conestoga Title Insurance. Many of his clients are business owners and farmers for whom he provides estate planning and succession planning, along with a great deal of compliance work for existing businesses.
Matt believes being upfront and direct with his clients to ensure expectations are both reasonable and attainable. He strives to provide excellent client service and thorough legal representation in a timely manner for reasonable fees. Matt believes open communication and prompt service to be fundamental in taking care of a client’s needs.
Matt has experience in a wide range of practice areas, however, a great deal of his practice revolves around real estate, succession and estate planning, probate estates, agriculture law, and corporate law. He has extensive experience representing creditors in Bankruptcy. He has a great deal of experience settling estates and trusts for large and small net-worth clients alike. Focusing on practice areas allows him to stay up to date on changes to the laws as they occur. It also allows him to be knowledgeable about procedures, allowing him to timely address issues as they arise. Matt is licensed to practice in the State of Ohio and in the Ohio Federal Courts for both the Northern and Southern Districts. He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Mercer County Bar Association.
Matt lives in Maria Stein with his wife Michelle and their yellow lab, Cleo. When he is not working, he enjoys farming and spending time with his family. Matt is a member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church located in Cassella.
